Erica Livingston, Director

Hello. My name is Erica Livingston. I am the Director of Rainbow Preschool and co-teacher of our Dragonflies class. I have a degree in Early Childhood Education. I have worked solely in the childcare industry. I was a director of a childcare center in Olathe before starting a family and deciding to stay home and run a home day care.
My husband, Brian, is co-owner of BCI Mechanical in Gardner. We have 3 children, Bradley, Emily, and Ethan, whom attend school in Wellsville. We are also hosting a high school exchange student for the second time.
My favorite time is the time spent with my family and being with friends. I also enjoy the lake, camping, scrapbooking, reading, and riding our 4-wheelers.
I enjoy my position as director and working with children. I am committed to our school and the families that we serve. Our goal is to give children a great foundation with our excellent curriculum and dedicated staff.

Sue Demarest, Lead Teacher

I’m Sue Demarest and I am the lead teacher in the Teddy Bears Class. I have a degree in elementary education and am licensed as a preschool teacher and director in the state of Kansas. I have taught in the Baldwin district for a number of years, both at the Primary Center and at Rainbow, in all of the different classes. But my favorite class is definitely the Teddy Bears!

My husband Ken, a professor at KU, and I have two children, Eric and Becky. Now that they are grown and married, Ken and I live a “quieter” life in rural Vinland with our dog, three cats and a horse. In my spare time I teach Sunday school (preschool, again) and speak to women’s groups. I enjoy antiquing, reading and walking in our woods.
Together, Ken and I enjoy motorcycle rides through the countryside.

I count it a real privilege to be involved in the lives of preschoolers, giving them a positive beginning to their school years and opening up the incredible world of learning ahead of them.

Dana Clem, Lead Teacher

Hello! My name is Dana Clem. I live in Baldwin City with my husband John and our 3 children: Abby, Nathan, and Sydney. My husband’s job with Xerox is what brought us to Baldwin City from Wichita.

I started working for Rainbow Experience Preschool as an Assistant Teacher when my youngest child, Sydney, was finishing up Pre-K at Rainbow Preschool. I fell in love the kids, the preschool and Baldwin City. Who knew work could be so much fun? I am thrilled to be in my current position as Lead Teacher. I have a lot of great ideas to share!

I am working on my degree in Elementary Education and am a licensed preschool teacher in the state of Kansas. Spending time with my family is my favorite thing to do, but I also like to run, swim, quilt, read, scrapbook, work outside at home and I am also a tri-athlete. I help with 2 girl scout troops, boy scouts, and teach Sunday School at church when needed as well has help with vacation bible school.

What do I love the most about teaching preschool? The kids. They are so much fun. I love to just watch them play, learn and grow. It is amazing to see how much the children progress in all areas of development by the end of the year. They are a true blessing!

Linda Sledd, Asst. Teacher

Hi, I’m Linda Sledd and I’ve been an assistant teacher at Rainbow Preschool for many years. My husband and I live in Baldwin City. My husband works for USD 348. We have two grown children and four wonderful grandchildren.

I’m proud to say that both of my children were students at Rainbow Preschool, so I truly love Rainbow and the great children here.

Susan Rader, Asst. Teacher

I’m Susan Rader, assistant teacher. I graduated from Baker University with a degree in Communication. Prior to the birth of my son, I worked for The Social Security Administration as a claims specialist for ten years.

My husband Mark, son Nick and I live in rural Wellsville. I currently serve on the Wellsville School Board. In my spare time, I like to keep fit by running on our property. I also enjoy spending time out of doors fishing and hiking with my family.

I am glad to have the opportunity to share the Rainbow Experience with you and your children.
